Synapsego: Automated Visual Synopsis Creation & Goal-step Analysis, SK Telecom

Synopsis: Generate a synopsis by analyzing the video and compose a report based on it.This project was targeted at police departments, with the goal of automatically analyzing officer-worn bodycam footage to generate a synopsis and create a report organized by key events.

Goal-step: Analyze the work procedures by using an expert's work videos. Establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) based on this analysis. Compare and analyze the established SOPs against the work procedures observed in/derived from worker videos.This project was targeted at two main audiences for this evaluation: SK hynix workers (for their adherence to standard procedures) and university nursing students (for their practical skills assessment).

We often take screenshots of useful information we find while browsing the web on our smartphones, intending to look at it again later. But when we actually try to find that specific screenshot, it's difficult to locate it in a gallery cluttered with countless other pictures. We designed our product to solve this exact problem.

We are heading into an era that will be dominated by AR and VR. To keep pace with this trend, our goal was to create a location-based AR SNS (Social Networking Service) that can be used on current mobile devices.

We implemented all the standard SNS features, such as direct messaging and thread posting. Additionally, by utilizing Apple's ARKit, we developed a new type of SNS where users can place content into an AR environment through their mobile device's camera.

Initially, our objective was to create a general-purpose SNS. However, we are now in the process of defining a more specific target audience and optimizing the platform accordingly. (For example, we are placing a strong emphasis on niches such as running, idol fandoms, or 'otaku' culture.)

MLOps pipeline for AI Surveillance Cameras(CVOps), SK Telecom

In surveillance camera monitoring systems, false alarms caused by false positives are a persistent problem for operators. The conventional solution involves manually extracting the frames where false positives occurred and retraining the model.

The objective of this project is to automate this retraining pipeline.

Furthermore, this process must be executed on a per-camera basis (or for specific camera groups) to avoid degrading the quality of the main, global model. Therefore, it is crucial to develop a cost-effective logic to automatically update models for these specific camera groups.

To achieve this, we designed and implemented the solution in collaboration with AWS, making extensive use of serverless resources.

  • Design and deploy the AWS resources with AWS CDK.
  • User Authentication with AWS Cognito.
  • Dataset management with AWS Fathom(co-developing service with SKT) SDK.
  • Image preview and data streaming middleware service with AWS CloudFront + ALB + Fargate + Fathom SDK
  • Training pipeline with Sagemaker TrainingJob. Progress update, logging implemented with AWS SQS, Lambda.
  • Inference pipeline with Sagemaker ProcessingJob. Progress update, logging implemented with AWS SQS, Lambda.

Anomaly detection(with drone images) service for radio towers, SK Telecom
June 2023 ~ August 2023

Telecommunications providers, such as SKTelecom, are responsible for managing a vast number of radio towers. These structures vary in size, from several meters to tens of meters tall, and inspecting them incurs significant annual costs.

Therefore, I designed and implemented a service to diagnose faults in these towers using drone-captured video footage. This service determines whether a tower actually requires repairs before a technician has to undertake the high-risk task of climbing it, thereby improving safety and cost-efficiency.

  • Whole AWS infrastructure with AWS CDK(IaC).
  • VPC & NAT Gateway for security requirements.
  • Batch inference anomaly detection model with AWS Sagemaker ProcessingJob to only use instance on-demand(Serverless Service).
  • Handling non-code level errors such as AWS Sagemaker resource errors with AWS Step Functions. Triggering AWS Lambda if errors occur, then report it to the server.

Porting python denoiser module to Tmax Online Meeting solution, Tmax OS

  • Converting PyTorch denoiser model to C++ torchscript model which is customized from FaceBook denoiser project.
