    Three fundamentally different philosophies:

    • Claude Code: Terminal-native agent — AI operates at system level
    • Cursor: IDE-native AI — fork of VS Code rebuilt around AI
    • GitHub Copilot: Universal plugin — meets devs where they already work

    Key findings:
